UL certifies a wide range of products and systems that are covered by opening protective requirements in model building codes. These products and materials create systems, and the applications for which they are certified are covered in detail in this guide. Since some of the products and systems are also certified for use as part of the building’s means of egress system or for resilience from damage from wind-borne debris, information on these applications is also covered in this guide. Doors, windows, and related hardware that have been certified by UL to provide protection against burglary, robbery or theft or for access control are not covered in this guide.
